Covid-19 has made a huge impact in every aspect of our lives, and has had really devastating impacts on a global level. Although some communities have found the positives, and made adjustments to their lives in both work and personal life, the effects on most have and are still taking its toll.

Understanding your wellbeing and actively working to support self care is vital not only to your emotional health, but your physical health too; taking better care of you, your mind and your body can have instant and lasting effects from learning how to manage difficult situations to building self esteem and confidence, coping with stress or achieving your goals.
As part of the Adult Education Support Fund Pen and Paper Theatre Co. is facilitating a Creative Wellbeing Adult Education Project in with both Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan councils, providing an engaging, motivational and supportive curriculum for adults of all ages and abilities. The curriculum has been created as a scheme of work, providing opportunities for all to express themselves creatively, while supporting their learning into how to actively improve their wellbeing.
Project Aims
Supporting staff and learners to take an active role in managing and improving their wellbeing
Equip as many people as possible with the skills and activity ideas to take a more active role in improving and sustaining their own wellbeing.

Project Objectives
To create a wider understanding of the term ‘wellbeing’ and how it can impact on us as individuals
To enable people to recognise signs of poor wellbeing in themselves and others
To equip people with a variety of tools and activities to encourage the improvement and sustainment of positive wellbeing beyond the reach of the project sessions
To improve communication between staff and management regarding wellbeing requirements and adjustments
To empower individuals to take a proactive role in managing their own wellbeing and have the confidence to reach out to others for additional support if needed
To promote additional specialist wellbeing services and increase accessibility to further support if required

Delivery Outcomes:
Pen and Paper Theatre Co. CYF will develop a robust resource pack complete with:
A scheme of work that outlines the various session topics and activities proposed to be delivered. (This will be updated as the project progresses to reflect any adaptations to provision or course structure that may arise in order to best meet learner needs.)
A standalone curriculum based on the Wellbeing Club programme outlining how the wellbeing topics can be discussed and developed through the creative activity in each session.
A range of activities and useful reference documents that will be used and provided within the project.
Various feedback capturing techniques and templates
Pen and Paper Theatre Co. CYF has been commissioned by Local Authority Community Learning Providers: Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council. Funded by Welsh Government through the Adult Learning Support Fund 2020-2021.
