The PPTC. Youth Theatre Framework

Standing firmly behind the Pen and Paper Theatre Co. mission statement, we creatively liberate our communities through performance and theatre. Providing plenty of opportunities that impassion, empower and encourage our young people to Explore, Express and Exceed.
Our framework has been developed to ensure that our young people are given a breadth of experiences and tools that are transferable not only in theatre, but across all employment sector.

Based in the Vale of Glamorgan, our Youth Framework is open to young people from ages 13-19, accepting enrolments from across the Vale, Cardiff and Bridgend. For our young people outside of the Vale, we are able to provide a Essential Travel Notice.

We try to keep our costs low, and when we can we do drop our season fees. This has resulted in our fees for this season dropping to £75 per child, you can find out more about more by clicking below.

Each season is different, focusing on a diverse range of areas and genres of theatre and the arts, equipping each member with the necessary tools to Explore, Express and Exceed!
  • Spring Season:
The Collective Creation - A collaborative theatre making process, tackling subjects decided upon the members of the Youth Theatre Company.
  • Summer Season:
The Large Scale Production - A set play or musical text, a live hands-on experience of producing a large scale production.
  • Autumn - Winter Season:
Pantomime - A Christmas tradition, and the most fun but demanding season in the theatrical calendar! Members will experience Pantomime from start to finish!
I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.
  • Oscar Wilde
The framework has been carefully designed with our young people in mind.
We know that not every young person is going to want to be an actor, or a singer, we even know not every young person is going to want to go into the theatre industry, so we have ensured that our framework is versatile, engaging and as rewarding as possible.
This means that young people will build knowledge, skill and experience within five areas through theatre. These skills, yes, are vital for the theatre industry but are highly transferable into different industries and employment sectors, giving them the best opportunities to succeed.
