This Season

Picture
We are delighted to announce that this season, we will be involved with the fantastic National Theatre Connections Festival 2021.

This Season...

This season is going to be better than ever, and we are re-launching with a bang!

The National Theatre Connections Festival takes place across the UK with over 300 youth organisations taking part, all working on a brand new piece of writing that has been written especially for the festival. The festival is renowned for providing young people between the ages of 13-19 professional and one of a kind opportunities!

With an opportunity to perform our productions in our home venue, as usual, but also to perform in our Partner Venues, which for our group is the Sherman Theatre, and finally there is a chance to perform in London's National Theatre in South Bank!

Along side all this, we are excited to bring our young people together during one of the toughest years for us all. Young people have been through extraordinary times, and here at Pen and Paper Theatre Co. we know how vital it is to ensure that we bring back some kind of 'normality' even if that is a chance to let their hair down and enjoy the world around them.

What will happen during sessions?

As part of time with the young people, we will be providing a safe space and not just in COVID Compliance.
Our young people will be creatively liberated to Explore, Express and Exceed, inspired to produce creative works and opportunities with the community, for the community,

while pursuing excellence in performance and theatre.
Supporting our young people to develop is crucial to ensuring their success. As part of each and every session, all young people will be empowered to explore and experiment, developing their social skills, confidence, and personal development skills.

We will be working with all young people, and supporting them to develop and build skills where they are most comfortable, while also gently encouraging them to push themselves
On stage, off stage or back stage!

We will be exploring 5 areas of theatre which include:
Performance
Costume and Make Up
Stage Management
Lighting Design and Management
Sound Design and Management.

Pen and Paper Theatre Co. Youth runs as a fully practicing company, and along side theatre, our young people will be building experience in company and business management, developing skills that are so vital for their development and future careers.

Maximum Places

We are able to accept a maximum of 20 young people for this season.
This will ensure that we have a large enough cast for our National Theatre Connections production, but that we can also ensure that you are COVID Confident that we are COVID-19 Compliant.

Fees

The cost of each season does vary, depending on the materials, cost of licenses, venues etc. however, we want to ensure we remain as transparent as possible, and let you know why season fees change.

We are very happy to say that this season the costs have dropped, and the total fees for this season are £75.
Made up of:
Enrolment Fee: £25
Production Fee: £50

We have been able to dramatically drop our fees this season due to being awarded a 75% bursary from National Theatre Connection to cover the majority of their involvement costs.
The fees you pay will cover our venue, practitioner and administration costs, as well as provide a little support towards the cost of our production that we will incur along the way.

Please be aware our enrolment fee is payable as soon as possible, and will secure your child's place in the season. The production cost is payable no more than 1 week after the season has started.

Wellbeing & Safeguarding

Wellbeing and Safeguarding is of the upmost importance to us at Pen and Paper Theatre Co. so these are the measures we have in place:
Each member of staff is DBS Checked.
There will always be a safeguarding lead in sessions.
There will always be a trained first aider in sessions.
Any and all wellbeing or safeguarding concerns will be logged, and discussed with relevant parties.
Every young person will need to sign in and out of sessions.
Use of cameras, and video will be used in line with our Media Release Forms.
